Patchogue rising!

I’ve been going to #Patchogue for over 30 years. It’s always been a village with massive potential. The location has always been excellent but it seemed as if no one ever noticed. For years Patchogue was a dumping ground for the homeless, the poor and the disenfranchised.

No more! Patchogue has caught fire 🔥. Mayor Pontieri who has spearheaded efforts to improve Patchogue for decades has finally made it happen.  One of my favorite movies 🎥 of all time is “Field of Dreams” and the point of the movie is “if you build it, they will come”. Mayor P has certainly been instrumental in making this happen.

Downtown Patchogue Village has had a total makeover bringing in top notch restaurants and entertainment venues. It’s hip, it’s happening. On a recent Sunday, I tried to have a quick breakfast and there was an hour wait at #Toast and 45 minutes at #Flosluncheonette.. The Village attracted development and has brought in Blue Point Brewery as well as New Village upscale apartment rentals priced at $2200 and up.

Real estate prices had been depressed for years but that’s all changing right now. Patchogue is in the middle of gentrification and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving Village. It’s got everything that anyone would want. It’s got a Theatre 🎭, a library 📚, ferries to Fire Island; a Beach and Pool 🏊‍♀️ Club; LIRR station; and seriously awesome turn of the century homes 🏠.  While home prices are on the rise, Patchogue is still a bargain compared to it’s neighbors like Sayville and Blue Point.

I, for one, couldn’t be happier. It’s about time people saw what I’ve always seen, a fabulous location with awesome housing stock.
